Hi Baba.

I’ve been trying to follow the libsecondlife instructions for making the builds for Windows, and I’ve been jumping through hoops, getting nowhere.

First the link to the ready-made latest builds doesn’t work. So I downloaded C# Express 2008, only to find that it needed to convert older .sln files, so I downloaded C# Express 2005.

As a long time VB (and C-like languages, programmer, but never having needed to get into C itself of any flavour, I should have been able to follow the instructions. This is what I found…

There are no .proj files in the set - only .csproj and .sln files, so I assumed that the .sln files were all that I needed to build. One of them pointed to a .vcproj file, which C# said it couldn’t find. When I removed it and tried to add it again, I wasn’t offered the choice of .vcproj. So that .sln file was no good.

The Test one did produce the anticipated errors, and I could have probably dealt with them, but since I’m not sure what I’m trying to achieve, and already having one of the .sln files out of action, I didn’t pursue it.

It would be really good if the ready-made builds were available on the site. If they were available, I could get a reasonable grasp of C# and continue further, but I can’t get that far because of the .vcproj file and the lack of ready-made builds.
